Shochiku Ume Shuzo brewery was established in the early 1919s by the late Shinjiro Inoue and the sake used was said to be a famous sake of Mabori. In the early Showa era, the number of brewed stones reached 9,000 stones, and it was one of the leading sake breweries in terms of quality and quantity. However, due to the incident of World War 2, the company was re-organized to became an ammunition factory and the brewing of sake was discontinued.

When the war was over, Hiroshi Noda, the founder, completed the revival of Shochiku Ume Shuzo in 1940. Thus Shochiku Ume Shuzo Co., Ltd), as the brewery of "nada-1" was re-established here.

 

During the revival of Shochiku Ume Shunzo, the late Shinjiro Inoue continued to engineers the brewing technique and it was passed down from one generation to the next generation. However, due to the great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995, the sake brewery was completely destroyed, and the sake brewing industry was forced to scale down its operation significantly. However, Shochiku Ume Shunzo continues to believe that there are things that can be redone starting from a small scale. Ultimately, the company wants to brew a fine sake with a rich personality that suits the individual taste.
